Nobody, just tryouts. They cut the field from 16 down to two teams of five. McGirt's team is Soliman, Buchanan, McCrary, Banks, and Codrington. Correa's team is Smith, Vera, Johnsen, Bika, and Alexander.

In the preview for next week, they hinted at a Vera-Codrington beef.

I'd say Soliman and Bika are the two best out of that crop. I don't see how any of them are going to beat Bika, considering he's been competitive with top 10 fighters and guys like Codrington have yet to even showcase the chin to compete with such.

Soliman is my favourite from the bunch, but he's probably too small. I wish he'd move down to 154 if he could.

The division's sitting, spread-eagled and with puckered lips, waiting to be taken. Can very easily see Alcine, Spinks, et. al. tying themselves up in knots getting outworked against SS. Kudos to him, though, for mixing it up with younger, physically larger guys and at a weight where he has virtually no power.

At 154 he had enough power to do damage. I could see Spinks running and pot shotting towards a decision.

Well, obviously here's hoping it becomes a fierce rivalry, but you know how these shows milk anything and everything for dramatic effect. It could have been one of those little high-test flare-ups that happen in the gym all the time, where five minutes later they're all "sorry man" and huggy and ****. :yep

    Codrington I think takes this.

In 5 rounds(unless he gets caught) I think he can't be beat. His workrate matchs Soliman plus he has power.

Hey good eye, I wasn't paying that close attention. :good

Hopefully they maneuver them towards a grudge match like they did with Wright-Bundrage. Although I wasn't too happy with the way that one went.

I know you were kidding. I didn't mean to come across like a knucklehead in my response if it came out that way. I am so mad at Williams it might have come through my typing. :D

Like you said, he blew a solid chance. All of these guys should realize that this is a great opportunity for a great payday, excellent exposure, and bigger opportunities down the line if they do well. I can't believe Rubin blew it so early.

I wonder if they knew at the time of the tryouts that it was for $1mil?

That's a good question. I don't know when the producers decided on the purse amount, but if any boxer knew beforehand that it was a mil and still showed up in less than top condition...well, I don't know what to call that.

Oh HELL YEAH. They know its for SOMETHING much bigger than what they have fought for in the past. and judgeing by the names they secured, and probably the promoters they had to work with, Im sure everyone knew it was for 1M.

I don't think either sport is ever going to introduce such technological advancements as a definitive gauge of ability. These types of things are ideally for giving a general idea of comparative stats, and pointing out areas that may need improvement. Not that you need a machine to figure this **** out, it just sort of expedites the process and brings some objectivity into it.
