I thought Gerry did good in round one. I scored it a 10-10 round. George was very calculating in round 2.

I thought Cooney looked pretty good too. Listen for the pending Foreman vs Tyson fight referenced by the fight announcer.

    Wish it would have happened,

Foreman demonstrated tremendous power in this fight. That uppercut followed by the right hand was just pure devastation. Excellent finish.

And accuracy. And what a finisher Foreman is when he gets a guy ready to go. That kind of ko at anytime in a heavyweight career makes for 1 helluva rebuilding project.

But that Cooney defense is and always was wide open. And for a guy 6'7", Cooney didn't exactly utilize his size like say Vitali Klitschko did. Cooney made himself smaller and that put him in the range of a big heavyweight in Foreman.

I would've liked to have seen cooney w/ Clancy his whole career instead of his last fight.

Foreman II's Uppercut is a very Underated Punch H2H.

Foreman ate some Cooney hooks rather well in round 1... Come round 2, Foreman turned on the heat and dusted Cooney off like a bug on the table... WICKED KO!

Cooney looked good with Clancey in his corner... more movement, jabs, etc. just a better approach then just slugging it out. I have a career set of cooney which was very good, it included an exhibition when he was with Clancey. he looked very good IMO.

as for the fight, George looked like a killer here. even sported the Walcott left hookercut.

  10. ey guys( just joking )lol but... anyone more than me think that cooney had face of ******ed?

Cooney by 1990 was age 33 and slender at 231 pounds upon entering the ring against the 41 year old, 253 pound Foreman. But I thought Cooney looked pale and lacked his muscular shoulders he once had back in the early 1980s.. Cooney still had punching power in 1990, but his chin was more glassy than my mom's China collection... Cooney appeared brittle standing next to Foreman at the press conference...

you think cooney looked ******ed lol?

  13. conney had always a weak chin... prime or not prime. he was hurt by a little kid like spinks too. and cooney never was muscular, he had great hitting power but he was a ****ing skinny. probably even a green foreman in 1970 would extract the head of prime cooney.

  14. lol, yes, i think . man look at his face...:rofl

Prime Cooney had broad shoulders with muscle tone. the 33 year old Cooney had zilch tone in the shoulder dept.

Spinks always had a wicked "Jinx" for a right hand, even at 200 pounds it could hurt if he nailed you with it. He nailed Cooney time and time again in rd. 5 back in '87..

Again, Cooney looked pale and gaunt at 231 pounds in 1990... I thought Cooney looked better and stronger at 225 pounds in 1982...
