But yeah, that fight was awful last night..

 

in every competitive sport in the world you need refs to be consistent in how they apply the rules.

with cortez , you simply do not have a clue how he is going to ref a fight one fight to another.

 

Why would anybody complain about a referee who doesn't know what the rules are?

 

I already had a bad feeling when it was announced he would referee the fight and, well, he didn't "disappoint" me.

 

Hold the **** up ..Yall need to be thanking Joe because if he had not broken up every clinch it would of been Wright Hopkins all over again ..He allowed the fighters space to punch ..Bunch of ingrates I tell you !

 

He was sucking Hopkins dick all night, like he usually does with Hopkins. He chose to ignore excessive holding and clear headbutts.

 

hes awfull sometimes he looks like hes going to have a panic atack during the fight.

 

it was awful reffing, this guy should be taken from the sport...just brutal

 

All I know is he reduced the clinching ..But if you would have preferred a replay of the Hopkins /Wright fight enjoy ..I don't think there is one ref at the end of a big fight that anyone won't find fault with !

 

God just hearing his voice all night and taking at least 3-4 seconds off the clock by breaking up every little thing gave me nightmares of the Hatton-Floyd fight. I know it was a sloppy fight and alot of holding/clinching but damn let them fight! Cortez sucks.

 

Wasn't he doing that ??? WTF do you all want a John Ruiz fight where no one is broken up ?? If Hopkins had his way it be a hug fest !

 

It could have been worse ..If he would have never broke them up Hopkins would of hugged his way to a decision ..And lets not get on Cortez so much because how many refs were in Warren's and Joe's back pocket for yrs ?? Most recent Manfredo ..
