    We agree on something!

I always felt Cotto was another overrated HBO hype job. He turned out to be better than I thought (very adaptable and tremendous timing), but when he got the gift against Mosley I knew he was not what he was being made out to be. And the excuses made for him when he ran in the last 4 rounds of that bout just reinforced to me he was being protected by the media and nuthuggers.

Judah, Mosley, Quintana, Clottey, Maussa, Corley, Mallignagi, Torres. You'll be hard pressed to find many who's fought as many top contenders as that. He lost to a guy who had bricks in his gloves and an ATG...no shame in that.

On the flip side, if Cotto's matchmaking were like Floyd's, Cotto would still be undefeated.

Cotto is a very good Championship quality fighter along the lines of a Calzaghe but not an ATG fighting Machine transcending the sport:

    examples:

Pac an Ali a leanord or a Duran.

    I wouldn't go that far....

Benitez, Leonard, Palomino and Hearns would kick the Hell out of him.

Cotto strayed from his gameplan or he would have done the same !!!

pac took away his game plan, took away his jab, took away his confidence... he took the fight out of him.

cotto as a very good fighter but he was also quite flawed. dont you guys remember that ricardo torres almost knocked him out. corley had him doing salsa. judah rocked him too. cotto is a good all around fighter but nothing he does wows you.

His determination, work ethic and resume certainly wow me. I consider him great yet vulnerable like Donald Curry or Floyd Patterson. What doesn't wow me is this thread topic however........
