I love how people here are praising cotto for having the balls to fight Martinez.

Let's not forget that Sergio was calling him out for years at 154 and cotto didn't even acknowledge he was alive. Now that Sergio looks vonerable he all of a sudden is interested in the fight.

Some balls he's got :-( I hope he gets ko'd

What goes around comes around. Sergio thought he could beat Cotto so he wanted to fight him. Cotto now thinks he can beat Sergio so he wants to fight him. I don't see the problem.

Cotto isn't exactly what he was years ago either. I think he has a better shot against Canelo.

Hes smart because the Canelo fight will always be there, if he didnt take the Martinez fight now he might have never got the opportunity again

I never thought I'd see the day Cotto and Coward were in the same sentence.

I agree Canelo isn't going anywhere and cotto will always have his name to get a fight. I just see Martinez, if he's healthy and even at his age, as being a much tougher fight.

Coward might be a bit harsh, yes. But you get my point

Going after a wounded animal isn't very brave.

Cant see how anyone could call Cotto a coward when he has fought almost a whos who of boxing of his era - Mayweather, Pacquiao not to forget, Judah, Margarito, Malignaggi, Ndou, Maussa, Torres, Bailey, Corley, Quintana, Mosely, Foreman, Clottey, then you have Urkal, Mayorga, Branco, Abdullaev, Sosa, Pinto.

Its not a bad list at all and win or lose, Martinez name on there is another plus for Cotto
