Im glad this happened as its time for Cotto to get a new trainer. He should get Richardson or Roach

Very bad timing, you don't want any more distractions before fighting the super tough Clottey, and firing the trainer is much worse than this Margarito and Top Rank situation. Maybe he should hire JuanMa's trainer if he wants to stay in Puerto Rico or look for a 'name' trainer. If his relationship was good with Arum, we could bet Roach will be involved. But now it's only a possible option. Maybe Papa Trinidad?

Evangelista allegedly threw first punching Miguel on the nose. He later stalked Miguel and the threw a cinder block at him which missed but damaged Miguel's car.

Shouldn't it be Miguel who presses charges?

:good Spot on. Both are no-nonsense straight talking guys who could probably find some common ground. Or what about Nacho?

He seems to be taking a professional approach. It doesn't look like he's going to let this disrupt his focus and become a distraction.

Hmmmm bad timing for Cotto. Clottey isn't Jennings. He needs to be 100% focused to beat him.

Police: Miguel Cotto and uncle exchange blows

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rican police say they are investigating an alleged fight between WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto and his trainer, who have had a sometimes combative relationship in the past.

A statement issued by the police says the elite boxer and Evangelista Cotto, the fighter's uncle, exchanged blows Wednesday after a heated argument about training at a gym in the champ's hometown of Caguas.

After the bruising scrap, Evangelista Cotto allegedly threw a cement block on his nephew's 2009 Jaguar, shattering a right-side window.

Cotto's spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Puerto Rican detectives are investigating the incident even though neither of the men has filed a complaint.
