So you clearly need to watch Vazquez Marquez 1 and Vazquez Marquez 2.

Agreed. A Mosley-Cotto rematch does me and the sport no good. The Welterweight division needs some serious cleaning out and I feel that with the youthful age and talent on the division is a great start for someone to have a hall of fame career. I do not want to see a rematch and I feel Shane will move on and let someone solidify their greatness in the division. So for me Cotto should get the winner of the December 8th fight. He has alot of work. Hatton, Floyd, Berto, Williams, Cintron, Margarito. He needs to get started now.

Would love to see it again. Cotto wins more decisively this time around.

I had it 114-114, but give the edge very slightly to Cotto on the basis that I gave Shane the benefit of the doubt on some close rounds on the fact that I like the guy. I don't think there is a need for a rematch, however, on the basis that Shane seemed very slightly broken after the fight was over and expressed little interest in doing anything but retiring. Hell, in the lead up to the fight, he was expressing a desire to train fighters post-retirement. I think that, in his heart, he knew tonight was the last hurrah if he failed.

Regardless of how close it was and what massive heart Shane showed, he doesn't have much else to prove and I get the feeling that the beating he knows he took tonight will not be any easier the second time through with father time continuing to march forward. That is to say, I think another fight would just bad beatdown from Cotto. Shane went out defeated but not broken completely and that is saying a hell of a lot. Let him have his retirement in peace. God knows after tonight he deserves it.

Mosley didn't even sound like he wanted a rematch. Mosley knows what Cotto is made out of and after a 12 round brutal fight like that I don't think he even cares to go through it again.
