Cotto vs canelo

I heard recently that the cotto vs canelo talks have been going very well, the major hurdle was the financial aspects and that has been agreed upon...all thats really left is for cotto to beat geale next week....great way to end 2015 for boxing...50/50 fight i think cotto takes it ud

The bigger hurdle has been the date, hopefully somehow there's no September date conflict with Floyd, either Showtime or Canelo will have to concede for it to happen.

 

If he gets Cotto, Mayweather will have to change his date. Only a complete Fl()mo would think that Mayweather can fight someone like Thurman, Khan, Porter, and compete with Canelo/Cotto.

Only way Mayweather gets September is if he somehow snatches up Cotto.

 

It would have to be someone like Khan, relative new-b's to the game like Thurman, Porter, and Brook are not gonna cut it. Obviously Mayweather Khan would not sell as much but I personally think the fight is big enough to play a good game of chicken with...I hope to not find out.

 

Doesn't Cotto have to get past Geale first or is Geale taking a dive?

 

I can pretty much guarentee that Cotto vs. Canelo will have to move and will settle on an October date.

 

Wow, if Canelo/Cotto try to overthrow Mayweather/whoever .... that sure would be interesting! Canelo has been adamant about wanting the September date. I think it's obvious he's trying to steal back Mexican Independence Day in Sept and Cinco De Mayo in May.

 

Geale is a big hurdle and I hate to say it but I just have a feeling he will beat Cotto. I've seen it so many times in boxing where fights like this fall through because one fighter loses during all of the stalling.

Gamboa-Lopez comes to mind. Let's see next week anyway.

 

Cotto vs canelo will be way better then floyd vs anyone unless its GGG (not that he needs to fight ggg as ggg is big but its the only guy i give a real shot at floyd).

In fact, I'm not sure there's anyone Floyd could fight that would actually outdraw Cotto v Canelo.
