No I'm not an idiot...I realize that Cotto is still uproven to an extent and is still green compared to what Duran was but can you imagine what an awesome fight this would be at 140 or 147?

Give me your expert opinions. :good

Yes, I can imagine Cotto getting absolutely brutalized at 140 and destroyed at 147.

you are not an idiot this would be mouth watering and if they were both in there primes at this moment people would be dreaming of this matchup. I do think Duran would win but cotto is unbeaten and could go on to be an ATG himself.

Can we PLEASE hold off on this until Cotto beats a fighter anywhere near the top 10 P4P list.

It's gonna be several more impressive victories by Cotto before I would think he would even have a chance.

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that Duran was naturally smaller than Cotto, and not as strong (tell that to Barkley :) ), so in that respect Cotto would have a slight advantage - but still... Duran was absolutley an ATG and I gotta believe he would win.

I don't think he would destroy him necessarily, but I think he'd certainly win.

Agreed, Cottos "O" will go on saturday anyway, so why bother with all this fantasy matchups :hey

Just to stay on topic, Duran KO1. Far too agreesive to miss a chance to KO Cotto early.

u know what i hate?? when someone great retires, most people automatically make them an unbeatable god or something. i believe duran beats cotto probably by ko.....but why does everyone think it would be so damn easy, cotto is a damn good fighter (yes this is coming from someone who doesnt like cotto too)

by the way logdog, ur not an idiot, this would be a fun fight while it lasted but cotto beating duran, at least at this point is a little bit of a stretch.

    Yeah, it's funny.

People forget that all the ATG's had normal fights against average opponents and didn't just "destroy" them all in one or two rounds. Once they retire though, they would KILL anyone and no fight could possibly be competitive against them.

I think Cotto vs Duran would be a heck of a fight and while Duran would likely win, it wouldn't be just an easy walk-over or a quick knock-out.

Cotto has been shook and knocked down by fighters that are not near the class or boxing of Duran. This would be a fun fight for a few rounds untill Druan puts his will down and KO's Cotto around the 7th round.
