I wouldn't mind see that fight again, bu it'll be at 154 again. Neither one of them are middleweights
It will happen. No risk to Floyd. Lots of delusional fans out there. Floyd will say, "Rodrigues who? I aint no sparring partner."
Perfectly credible and justifiable rematch IMO. Cotto did better versus Floyd than any opponent in years. (since DLH IMO...and before that Judah and before that JLC and before that Aragón) Besides, what other top light middleweight is so deserving of the sweepstakes that Cotto would be seen as cutting in line and denying them a fair shake? Especially if he builds a little momentum and puts another couple of W's together , of about the same level as D-Rod. Would people really be able to say Mayweather is ducking Molina or Trout (who, yes, beat Cotto...but also lost a close match with the same Canelo that Mayweather shut out) to rematch Cotto? I don't think so. I don't think anyone could argue with a straight face that either of them is more dangerous than Cotto. Lara? Perhaps, but he doesn't have anywhere near the laurels/credentials/drawing power. Plus, the match-up will have a whole different complexion than it did last May. They both have different trainers and have reverted to more of each one's signature "classic" style. Freddie Roach and Floyd Sinclair will leave a totally different imprint than did Pedro Diaz and Roger Mayweather. ...and they'll have both aged, minimally, two more years - throwing a spanner in the works and creating another variable. Maybe we'll see Cotto getting a second wind into 2014 and beyond as the Rodriguez performance suggested...and maybe that will coincide with age finally catching up to Floyd, with the combined effect being an even closer match than we got in 2012...
