A loss to Mayorga would be devastating to his career. It may seem like a winnable fight on paper. But if he loses, he sure won't be as marketable.

As far as career advice goes, I still don't understand how he's just the guy that gets matched in a fight with someone who probably had loaded gloves, and gets completely smashed up, and then gets his brains beat in by Manny, but yet seems fully ok with Arum just doing whatever with him. I understand he still makes great money and all, but it seems as Manny's opponents have been much more carefully selected. Even Margarito opponents since 05 appear to be carefully selected.

I just think Cotto just seems like a Yes man and whatever his promoter suggests, he will do. I would have a serious problem if my promoter still worked with a guy that probably cheated and rearranged my face. I just think I'd try to get out of my contract immediately. Then since the steroid thing came up, there may just be a small cloud of suspicion around the loss to Manny as well.

Granted he still has many fans, he could have so many more including mainstream fans if he was 37-0. With a loss to El Matador, that would not be good for his business.

He is a warrior who has never turned down a fight. This will be agood fight for him. He'll get fired up from all trash talk and come out to stop Mayorga. He will look impressive in stopping a weight drained Mayorga whose wide punches will leave Cotto plenty of room for his improved right hand and hopefully we get to see some trademark body punches.Cotto knows there is no proof Margo cheated against him. Margo paraded around the ring in his handwraps after the fight. Would he really do that if he knew plaster of paris was in there. Margarito deserved his shot, as did Pacquiao. He has one of the more solid resumes in boxing right now and there are plenty of guys he faced which he didn't have to.

I am a big Cotto fan he needs to have a few more fights then retire. I dont want to see him in this game another 3 years. Maybe next couple of years and call it a day. I hope to see him fight and beat Margarito after Mayorga then a fight in Madison Square Garden then retirement fight in PR.

COtto was cheated by Margo & his loaded gloves...if he never lost like that he would be much better and his career could have lasted longer....****ing Margacheato and his trainer...pieces of **** should be banned from boxing...then had the nerve to joke about it on the 24/7 episode

mayorga wouldn't beat cotto on mayorga's best day and cotto's worst. mayorga is a B- fighter at best. i'm going to start calling mayorga the million dollar mouth, because it's his mouth that's gotten him all those nice paydays, not his skills.

    I hope Cotto wins tooo

But theres something called a "Punchers Chance" and "Heart" and Mayorga has it

Mayorga is a Risk to Cotto no matter what anybody says,He has nothing to lose,so he will bring everything he has and will use his size advantage and pressure Cotto, and we all know Cotto is not comfortable at all getting pressured...

Just Hope Cotto is on his A game

Mayorga has been out too long to compete at Cotto's level.

It should be a onesided asswhipping, and I doubt Mayorga has enough gas in the tank to finish the fight.
