Is a dissapointment in my eyes. I feel like as soon as he got to the brink of superstardom and greatness, he fell hard from Grace. Anybody else agree here?
Many would have made him P4P#1 if he beat Margarito. He still accomplished a hell of a lot, though. His career's not over, we'll see what he does from here on out.
It didnt end up as well as it could have, primarily because of the Margarito defeat, which would have taken a lot out of anybody. He still had good wins over Corley, Malignaggi, N'Dou and Torres at LW. Then Quintana, Judah, Mosley, Clottey at W. His legacy has been good, in modern terms great. Winning at a 3rd weightclass and rematching and defeating Margarito, both of which i think he can do, would re-establish him amongst modern greats.
After his defeat from the hands of a midget, i dont think cotto will ever be the same again but i am very confident that he will knock foreman out.
that magacheato fight messed him up but honestly not to make excuses he needs a trainer focusing on his defense first and foremost
agreed.. he still has alot of power and hes only 29.. maybe light middleweight is were he belongs.. we'll see June 12th
I just don't see him beating: Mosley again Floyd Williams Pac Clottey again (didn't think he won the first fight) I just honestly don't see where he goes from here. The fight that would've made the most sense is a fight with Cintron.
He is what he always was. A talented fighter who put on exciting fights but was extremely flawed. He toyed with greatness but had too many flaws to ever reach it. He's a decade defining fighter but I don't think great fits him.
One loss to a guy who more than lightly had loaded gloves and one loss to a guy making a run at ATGness exhibiting outworldly power and skill. Can you be great as a [currently] 2 weight world champ, hmmm? He really couldnt do more than he has done though bar reversing his losses. He has consistently sought out and fought the best. I can see what yer sayin but I wouldnt want to be the man to knock Cotto he has achieved so much and by all accounts a stand up guy. Could he be better who...couldnt? could he have done more....doubt it, disappointed.....certainly not me.
Right. It's hard to be disappointed in a guy who has wins over Mosley, Clottey, Malignaggi, Ricardo Torres and Zab Judah. Unless you thought he was Jesus Christ or something I see what BoD is trying to say. I guess I just was more grounded/pessimistic in Cotto's chances?
one loss to a guy with cement in his gloves... and the 2nd loss to a guy who may be using PED's. sux for him... but at least his losses may have astericks.
