His true warrior colors were defined when he went to WAR with Torres.

After Margarito II, he was redefined.

If he comes on top vs Trout and beats Canelo he is set.

Well it seems like the Margarito rematch and the Mosley fight were the fights that brought him the most praise. Thanks for your input guys.

I'm sure a lot of people don't consider his fight against Quintana special, but that's one of my favorites b/c it was his first fight at 147 and Quintana was favored by many b/c of what he had just done Julio. Cotto just destroyed him. That was the last time I can remember seeing the aggressive boxer-puncher that I grew to love as a fighter. Of course, that fight wasn't his defining moment b/c Quintana wasn't a household name. Most would say it was the Mosely fight. I suppose I can see why though.

The Mosley win pretty much catapulted Cotto to elite status.

That was a very good all Boricua war right there Rivera, no doubt. The way Cotto finished off El Indio was amazing.

The Quintana bout alongside the Margo rematch are my two favorite Cotto performances.

The Torres fight brought the warrior out of him.The Quintana fight removed all doubt about who was the Top Dog out of PR at the time. The Mosley fight proved his skill level and both Margo fights together are just poetic justice.

    tough to tell

the Malinaggi and Torres fights were before he hit big with the mainstream

Judah and Mosley were his big breakout fights

Margarito 1 was supposed to be his big defining moment but he lost

it took him a long time to recover to form if he even has fully

His defining moment is not perfectly clear

Its either a defeat to Margarito similar to Vitali vs Lewis, or Avenging Margarito despite both guys being seemingly past it, his losing effort to Floyd which sparked a lot of interest in many inspiring many to think he is back

id like to see how he follows up the Floyd fight, if he were to face and beat Canelo that would probably do it for me

I don't think Cotto's ever been in a bad fight. He's the kind of fighter that makes people love boxing.
