i recently asked phil landman about the pac fight and what happened.... he replied they have no excuse cotto just got beat BUT they didn't come in with a gameplan, they worked on many different things but did not have a gameplan, the idea was to go in there and see what happens. he also commented on cottos weight and said that there were no problems at all with weight or hydration and he was fully healthy, he also said he thought cottos corner was not very proffesional. if you guys want i can pm you the actual message as i dont want to put it up here.
Maybe they didnt have a definite blueprint that should be followed to the letter, but I'm sure they worked on some stuff to counteract all of MP's strengths and take advantage of his weaknesses. I think HBO 24/7 showed Team Cotto viewing fight video of MP-JMM II and hey were making notes and looking for a way to use it for their fight.
i think there were too many people telling cotto different things, he had his father throwing in advice, his no good trainer, his fat friend etc.
