I watched the Lee fight last night and have to say McEwan looked a great fighter but purely lost that fight due to gassing late on, but on that performance you would have thought the fitness issues would have been highlighted and resolved for the next fight ?

ill watch the Quillin one later

Agreed about the fitness end of things. But surely you can't be serious about mcewan looking "great". I only saw him in the Lee and Quillin fights but to me he looks very very ordinary indeed. Big at the weight, tough chin ...awkward southpaw style, but that all. Nowhere near a top talent IMO.

In fact with all the talent in the British middleweights nowadays I am shocked that a thread about someone as poor as mcewan has now run to 7pages here.
There are so many boxers more deserving of this level of attention, even say among his fellow Brit boxers at 160.

Enough about mcewan. He is a dead loss. Let's focus on others more deserving.

Ok maybe the term great was the wrong word , competent fighter might be better ,

nothing special but then again look at Froch he is technically average but has a good chin and is always in excellent fitness, again nothing special !

Your right they dont but if you compare the skills of each fighter then McEwan in my opinion is the better boxer , however he lacks Froch's iron chin , conditioning and dedication.

Someone like Nick Blackwell or even the much-maligned Eubank Jnr - who at least acts like he wants it might warrant this level of attention - not McEwan.
