Rakhim Chakhkiev/Ola Afolabi lost by ko 5.Cakhiev looked good, was boxing cautiosly, was landing his chrushing power shots at times, but lost concentration for two moments and that cost him fight.I don't know where he goes from here, nothing for him really. He can go to heavyweight division but he will be limited even there. For instance if he fights Takam he will loose heavy,I think his chin was slightly cracked by Wlodarzcyk. P.S.Good victory for Ola.Afolabi/Gasiev next.
So I read Gassiev will fight Kiladze on 28th in Germany. Also with Chak and Kudrya losing, Ryabinsky will push hard for Lebedev unification fight now: against Glowacki or Ramirez.
In my view Chakhkiev did not look that good. He fought like a caveman, had a very wild style and was gassed completely after 4 rounds. Afolabi, who took some hard shots waited until the right moment to strike.
Dmitry Kudryashov lost to Olanrewaju Durodola by tko 2.Dmitry Kudryashov looked out of his class there.Durodola have some punch and fast hands and he fully showed these things against him.Dmitry Kudryashov needs to really think about his fighting style,I was suprised he didn't throw back when Durodola hit him with so many punches. He needs new trainer and move to heavyweight division, there he will be more competetive than in cruisers.
Glowacki's coach said this in today's interview regarding unification bout with Lebedev: "We are very much interested. Krzysztof will fight a voluntary defence in January or February in the US. After that we are ready to consider various options. Unification is a unique challenge for every fighter. Wlodarczyk wished for it for 4 years. If we get an offer, we will surely consider it". I love the idea, but Lebedev vs Wlodarczyk could be maybe an even more epic battle...
I love Wlod but he's not getting an offer. Denis only wants 2 fights: unification or rematch with Huck. Ryabinsky will surely send them an offer but whether they take it is another story...basically Glowacki can score a nice payday and unification in Russia or fight Usyk instead.
If he fights Shumenov (and wins) then the door is open, but it is still a long way to go... Glowacki should stay away from Usyk. Lebedev is the best option, financially & when it comes to his chances.
Wlodarczyk said in today's interview that he just signed a deal to fight Shumenov for WBA Interim. They are scheduled to fight on 19 December in the US. What's missing is Shumenov signature, other than that everything is settled. Wlod also said that he would never fight Glowacki (or other of his compatriots) and that he badly wants to be a champion again. He is willing to fight Drozd even when the belt is not at stake, but at this moment he targets Lebedev.
