I want to know what the opinion of the members are here about the light middleweight division. I am finding it difficult to check enough contenders or prospects that are impressive at 154 so I am hoping that someone could shed some light about this.

If I am being honest on why I am making this thread, it is because I am quite the fan of Vergil Ortiz Jr who will probably have to move up. I have not read enough so take this with a grain of salt, but his disease called rhabdomyolysis can be either be caused by insufficient fluid intake while doing strenuous conditioning to make weight or high intakes of cocaine, alcohol or peds.

I could be wrong, but I am doubting a disciplined boxer such as Vergil would be drinking often, and I am not sure he could have passed a drug test multiple occasions in the past by taking large amounts of steroids. Possibly small intakes to cycle off but that would not be enough for him to be in the state he is currently in. I am just wondering if he would find any difficult opposition at light middleweight.
