    Did he officially announce retirement?

It has been a full year (plus 1½ weeks) since his loss to HNN, so he was dropped from all the org rankings and the active roster on Boxrec.

I remember some months back hearing Stevens' name bandied about in possible match-ups but nothing ever came to fruition and he doesn't have anything scheduled.

If he stays in the mix at 160lb there are some great pairings out there among fellow outskirt contenders for him to make TV-friendly battles. In particular I'm thinking Heiland and Khytrov would make for wars. Anybody with too much guile & movement is always going to be able to outbox him, but throw him in with anyone who likes to rumble (and won't crumble, the moment he lands his bombs) and you have :pop worthy stuff.

Okay, just checked his Twitter...apparently he's planning a return (and chasing after James Kirkland) and is currently serving as Canelo Alvarez's chief sparring partner to prep for Cotto.

I think I might've known that already but forgotten it.

Oh yeah. They fought to a disappointingly boring draw, right?

Once again fighters need to pick their promotions wisely.
Curtis has re-newed his contract with Main Events a company whose main star can't even fight in his own country.
They should just disband and group up with K2 and Banner promotions.

Talented guy, good skills, no heart for boxing. He fights hard for 2 or 3 rounds then if it's not going his way, he quits.

He can punch hard, lots of talent, but I don't think he is willing to put in the work to become a champion.....................

How do you guys think he does vs Lemieux a guy who wouldnt be hard to find and would provide plenty of counter opportunities

A Brooklyn Brawl vs Quillin or Jacobs always appealed to me too but no one else ever seemed interested in this to my surprise

Great choice of a sparring partner for Canelo. A quick guy that can turn over a left hook like no one's business.

Curtis had (still has) so much potential. His catch and shoot style is always going to be one where a mover will give him trouble. They do work and spin out so quick he just can't counter quick enough. If you stop moving and bang with him though, he's a beast.

Stevens vs Kirkland would be a good match.

A fight with Kirkland would be great.
