In his latest IFL interview Frank mentions he has got a big fight for Daniel Dubois, reckon this means the Dave Allen fight has been made.
Dubois just needs someone who’s going to give him rounds. Dave the human punchbag Allen fits that bill perfectly. Good match making.
Surely Dull Boy Pakora is the modern day punchbag now for Dubois and Joyce types. Allen is a zero risk fight and simply a waste of time - Dubios would get a better workout on the bags.
Allen would need throw more than 5 punches a round to get a decision, and not spend most the rounds on the back foot. I dont see it myself. He could not even beat Lenroy Thomas.
Good fight. Allen is English level imo. Dubois will need to stay a little tighter defensively, as Allen can throw shots and tends to do it early on before running out of ideas - but i think Dubois will ground out a win via a stoppage mid rounds.
why would eddie hearn send a fighter his sort of trying to build up to bt unless he doesn't have a contract with allen but even so he could just give him a fight rather then him fight on bt
Interesting Sky have put up an article saying Dubois has never knocked down AJ in sparring. Even if they are rubbishing the claims still seems strange to give him publicity.
I don’t think Hearn is to bothered about Allen- think he would be ok with him fighting on a Warren card especially if it’s good money for him.
I think the Dave Allen story is over (if it ever started) and he's served his purpose with Matchroom. Hope the guys made and saved a few quid as he's a great character but always get the feeling it doesn't end well for him.
