    was trunks that big and high even allowed today?

    I'm not sure it makes any difference whether you wear hotpants or jeans really. You are only making life more difficult for yourself with your pants that long, but maybe he is used to it

    What the rules are I'm not quite sure

    yes thats what i noticed too, it would be more difficult to move around with the trunks lower the knee level

    I thought the same thing when I saw his trunks; "what the **** are those?!" They must allow anything from skin tight girl shorts to garbage bags in there
