Daorung Chuvatana

Very good fighter, and underappreciated. He was a bit like Sasakul in his general guard and technical punch-picking, albeit in a more forward aggressor role rather than the pure boxer that Sasakul was. Of course he was also a southpaw. He had some excellent fights with Konadu that proved his class, along with his close title fight loss against a similarly excellent technician in Sahaprom. Sucks that his fight with John Michael Johnson was stopped so early on that cut. Could've been a good one. Chuvatana was looking clearly his superior in that first round, though.

 

I don't remember him but when I saw the thread I immediately assumed he was a Thai because of his name. They all seem to have that Pacific/European hybrid sound. Remember Venice Borkhorsor?

 

yeah, he was good.Really showed some great defensive work in the 2nd Konadu fight, and Konadu's busy one-two orientated offensive style isn't the easy kind to look good defensively against.

 

Daorung Chuvatana is a fighter that I don't remember but i did think of Netrnoi Sor Vorasingh. Anyone remember him or seen him on film. Some good fighters on his record, Freddy Castillo, Luis Estaba, Sun Jun Kim, Seung Hoon Lee, Hilario Zapata, Bernabe Villacampo, Erbito Salavarria and Samart Payakaroon.
I've never seen him mentioned on the classic.

 

He'd started tailing off by that point, though, due to a combination of being weakened by the weight and a general lack of interest in his training. Not that he'd ever have beaten Fenech.

 

He mixed in some class Al', and was only 4'11 and a titbits at Light Fly.

I've asked around for footage lately to no avail, anyone seen any footage of this kid? He died young as well, in a bike accident.

 

If my parents had named me "Ear Michael Ears", I should think I'd be rather annoyed. :bart
