Darren Barker - any news?

I see the middleweight division was absent from the recent BBBC championships circular. Nothing on boxrec. I can imagine he must be quite frustrated.

 

Be nice to see Moore move up to MW and challenge for Barkers Commonwealth belt

 

Do we know what Hennessey has planned for his Nov and Dec ITV dates, was assuming Barker vs. McDermott to be on one of those

 

Dec is going to be John O'Donnell vs Philip Kotey.

Not sure about November.

I was going to make a thread about Barker today :good

I'd like to know what's going on with him, 5 months and no fight even lined up is a long time!

hope his career doesn't stagnate. he needs a meaningful fight soon. has macklin vacated the british or is he holding both titles?

 

but he won't be knocking him out. can barker keep his discipline for 12 rounds? possibley...would be a close fight

 

Barker is a quality fighter I reckon - but he just can't get a fight. I think he's potentially world class but will we ever get the chance to see it?

 

Vacated mate. McDermott who was supposed to be Barker's opponent for the vacant title has a fight lined up against Danny Butler for the English title according to boxrec

I guess from a Henessey point of view, why put on a big Barker fight if there is no chance of ITV keeping him, wait until January and try and sell it to Sky
