if Eddie wants to help him out he should never let him in the ring on one of his shows again. Get him a role on Sky Sports or something, if Johnny Nelson and Carl Froch can pick up a cheque i dont see why Allen couldnt

 

He wants to win the British and Commonwealth Titles before he retires as per his Twitter- which is fair enough because that’s his level. I’d sack off Nelson and have Allen any day of week on Sky,

 

Unless Sexton or someone ends up as British or Commonwealth champion I don't see that happening. Cornish and Sexton would probably still trouble Allen, although the former has retired now and Sexton seems to be going the same way.

 

Yes, there's been a few tasty names on that Commonwealth title. Would Joyce defend first or move onto bigger tests and vacate it? I wouldn't fancy Dave against Joe, as slow as he is.

the british title is a stepping stone for alot of highly rated fighters coming up. it will have to be a slow few years for prospects if allen wins a british title.

 

I watched a vid of him from around 3 years ago talking about his issues and while he was a bit slurred, it is noticeably worse now.

 

When you think of how Allen struggled with Thomas and then you see what Joyce did I can't see Allen having much success. Joyce is like an underwater fighter to watch at times but he would land big shots on Allen and probably make a mess of him.

 

I think it was the Yoka fight that really did it....I dont know if it was shown on UK telly but i watched it and it was a sustained beating....On top of Ortiz hammering....

That is his big problem ,he is too tough/daft to quit.....a flash k.o is much better to come back from than these batterings he is taking

 

Without wanting to sound disrespectful, he's northern and sometimes people from certain areas up north can sound slurry but I know exactly what people mean. When I see the likes of Allen and Tommy Coyle interviewed I can't tell completely if they're slurring or if that's just genuinely how they sound, dare I say it, a bit thick. This sounds awful but I worked with some Northern builders and they sounded like they were mentally handicapped, people at work used to joke about it, but it's just how they spoke.

 

Aside from his shady drugs goings on, I'd love to see Yoka back in the mix too. Super boxer.

 

Tommy Coyle is another one going down hill rapidly.......He needs to pack it in yesterday,he dont even need boxing he just likes fighting

 

I noticed this after the stupid Yoka fight.

He brushed it off as laziness but he's clearly shopworn as hell now
