    If Moore didn't move up to become the WBA champ at 154, would he have been a force at Welterweight?

    That wasn't the era of drying out and spending 36 hours rehydrating. He fought when you weighed in on the day of the fight. So, if he moved up, it's because he couldn't make 147 on the day of the fight and then get in the ring and fight. He wasn't a pro very long, and he was a middleweight at the end. Welterweight wasn't his weight.

    Too much bulk...he always looked heavier than 154. He'd need to really dry himself out or lose some muscle to make 147, neither of which would have been beneficial to him.

    No. Davey was a career welter when given the shot. Ranked 10 in the welterweight divi. He was supposed to beat Mihara (who refused to go to South Africa then lose to Charlie Weir in SA. No other reason.
