He was the only Brit to pick Usyk to beat Haye prime for prime on a BT Twitter thing, so he has my support.

I like the look of David Adeleye but he is very raw, with close to zero amateur experience and it shows.

At the moment his opposition is so poor that he just relies on his power and looks quite reckless, he knows he will stop them so there is not a lot of finesse, timing and boxing ability on display.

I think he has a lot of work to do behind the scenes, in the gym and in sparring. He's obviously naturally athletic so hopefully will be a quick learner

To compare him with Dubois to me, he is clearly not as good at this stage. Dubois, despite the outcome vs Joyce has an excellent hard jab. He also has very solid fundamentals generally, for me he hits harder and is also bigger so all clear advantages. Lastly, despite being the same age more or less Dubois is far more experienced. No long amateur career as he turned pro young but Dubois has been boxing, and around boxing gyms daily since he has been a very young boy. That's not the case with Adeleye at all.

So of the two I would definitely say, assuming he recovers from his eye injury Dubois has the far higher ceiling.

Unlikely to happen but I'd love to see Adeleye fight (and destroy) Babic and then fight Fabio Wardley for a British title that would be a fascinating fight.

I think it will be some time before he's matched at that level. I'm expecting to see him on undercards for a good while yet. Wardley I think would take him apart going by his last performance.

No need to create a ceiling for the guy just yet. Admittedly though, I am more impressed by Adeleye than I was with Dubois in his first four bouts. Looking forward to seeing him progress through to British level over the next two years or so.

he's very raw not been impressed tbh, very much a long term project if he's to improve and do something.

Looks like we were right saying Wardley has a better ceiling than Adeleye. He’ll be back out again on Friday headlining on BT.

out of all the heavily backed heavies coming out of the UK in the past couple of years, he is the worst. he makes Johnny Fisher look like Muhammad Ali.

This is a really good point. Adeleye’s last 2 fights have been against European bums headlining at York Hall.

Wardley has been promoted much better than Adeleye. Obviously Wardley is the much better fighter too.

I have no idea why people thought this was a 50/50 fight and so many people favoured Adeleye to win, this is a guy who got beat by Sokolowski, good prospects deal with Soko easily. Acting like a gangster in the build up doesn’t make you a better fighter, wardley outboxed and ko’d him like I excpected him too because he’s a better fighter, adeleye is useless, too muscle bound, hittable, no combinations, shite

People these days equate hype with someone being a good fighter, because he talks out the side of mouth like some teenage road man and was talking tough people thought this was a 50/50 fight when in reality Fabio was always going to smash him up and stop him, just a shame he didn’t do it in round 4-6 to make me win summat but hey ho.

I don't recall anyone apart from Dragon Punch who talked up Adeleye. Everyone thought he was no good and all hope was lost once he lost to Sokolowski so yeah, don't think he froze, he was just no good to begin with.

Wardley's an exciting fighter. Don't think he'll win a world title, but he enjoys a tear up and is also vulnerable once he gets hit as well. Like a better version of Alen Babic.
