There is only one human race. People born in a country which they spend a sizeable portion of their lives in are from that country. I'm from the central belt of Scotland, and I'm a Celtic fan. I've dealt with people who have lived (and been born) in Scotland as long as me, and longer claiming to be Irish through heritage. Lot of nonsense so it is. By all means respect your roots, but if you are born in the country you live in, you are from that country.

Agree. Problem with these issues, is that people like to fudge them for their own interests, for instance if they feel they would rather be considered Mexican, rather than American, just because they have Mexican parents, but were born, raised in the states, they go on these tangents to try and persuade other people, and themselves, that they are Mexican, and that is where the problems lie imo, you should not choose your nationality, it should choose you, now of coarse the are special circumstances where you can say, but what about this, that and the other, but IMO you just apply commonsense to that instead of coming with all this BS about ethnicity. Special instance would be if, like Joe Calzaghe, you were born in England till the age of 3 or something, but lived, were raised in Wales the rest of your life.
