David Lemieux has promise but several flaws. I have watched his last three fights + the Rubio one today. IMHO he was being moved way too fast before he ran into Rubio.

    Pros
Power - real whopping power. Especially in his overhand right.
Speed - definitely above average speed for the MW division.

Cons - where shall I start?
Gas - too little. Basically needs to train for 12 rounds, not 2. His speed and power advantages are all gone by round 5-6.
Defense - to basic for words. Puts both gloves up to his chin or face. Hopes that blocks whatever is coming and gets on with it.
Skills - really poor. Where is the uppercut? The jab? The inside work? Knowing that some punches should be hard and some soft? Has a ever tried a feint? Either they are not trained or it is due to the basic flaw behind all the others:
Ring IQ - like A CASTRATED LABRADOR DOG after a big dinner. Lemieux does not seem to know what to do to in the ring. He simply follows a opponent around, trying to punch is head off with an hard right. This leads to him reaching and the opponent scoring because it is so utterly predictable what Lemieux is going to do next. He does not even seem to know at what range he wants the fight.

The guy basically needs to learn to jab. Often, hard and fast.
His trainer or himself needs to come up with a defensive strategy that actually works. His best defence right now is actually his opponent's fear of his right. Otherwise he has zip. He does not even try to counter for "#¤% sake!
Feints - he needs to start using them. Uppercuts - the same, he could be quite good at them with his natural abilities.

All in all I think Lemmie was moved WAY to fast off his amateur career. AND he needs a new trainer FAST. Rebuild from basic. Otherwise it is off to the gym teaching aerobics to the Canadian women while his looks lasts.

Aaaarrgh! what a waste of potential!

Do you realise how short his reach is?

If Boxrec is correct, his reach is listed as 64 inches.

There are many bantamweights with greater reach than that.

    T-Rex's exist in Boxing.

honestly stylistically he would have a chance against some of the better middleweights that are slugger types like Quillin but a good boxer will school him. he should work his way to a rubio rematch, that'd be a great win for him to put him back on track.

He need to go down to 154, gradually. No future at middle.

We already knew that, with Aydin and Corey T-Rex Sanders. But looks like we've found the alpha male

Tyson had a short 71 inch reach for a heavyweight. Didn't stop him from being an ATG.

It's skill that makes the difference.

I don't find his skill being that bad for the moment with the attributes he has. He gets in fairly easily against any opponent and than hit them. Getting in is an art with slower boxers and guys with shorter reach. Lemieux manages to get in fairly easily. He is still pretty young too.

:deal He should be fighting at 154! Could make the weight and with his power would be a very hard fight for anyone!! Eventually when he gets older he could move back up when he improves his ring IQ, stamina and defense

A fan friendly fighter but very limited in terms of actual skills. Will always have a punchers chance early but not ready for prime timers. Will be fun to watch while it lasts.

I could envisage him in with Fernando Guerrero or Dany Jacobs in a cross roads fight which would be great.

He's ruined, he stepped it up too soon, I've seen it too many times. Lemieux should've never fought anyone with a winning record for at least 4-5 years.

Unless he can keep knocking his opponent's out inside 4 rounds he wont last.

Tyson was in a division which had no weight limit, he was able to expand sideways(i.e. shoulders, back, thighs, neck).

Lemieux doesn't have that luxury, so at 5'10", he has a 64" reach.

As I said, many Bantamweights have longer reach than him.

Again, you mentioned the lack or reach. What does expanding sideways have anything to do with it?:huh
