 We knew about Derry but I had no idea about Price leaving as well.

If Price is in fight shape he could hit the scene massively through prize fighter. With just 3 round fights, I think he would have no problem at all. The mainstream would immediately embrace him. He has the size and power to do big things in 3 rounds. Plus the amateurs has given him the boxing ability.

IMHO Hayemaker is where the Boxing News "Get boxing on the Beeb" campaign should concentrate, not pie in the sky 4am fights from America that the BBC are never realistically going to fork out for.

Rhodes doesn't sound all too happy about the situation either in the recent issue of Boxing News...

Fair point Gaz but Adam Booth claims that both Vitali and Haye wanted to talk to the BBC about them showing their fight (which is of course not happening now) but the Beeb simply weren't interested. Didn't even want to sit down and talk. Maybe the campaign can get them to think differently :think. I'd love Hayemaker shows on the BBC, all the stuff they had on Setanta was quality; good main events and undercard fights.

And yeah Kos, Rhodes said it straight up. If he beats Moore and can't get a world title fight then he'll be leaving as well.

it is a bit poor from hayemaker that as soon as the high profile tv deal went they just seem to completely lose their way. i mean lots of other promotions carry on just fine without tv deals. really let their fighters down badly. price only having one 1 fight in the past 6 months is a disgrace for a promising prospect like him. cant blame him for leaving.

But most promotional companies with no TV deals are built up gradually. Hayemaker never had that base, they got a TV deal and some top amateurs right from the start.

Matthews and Price are decent domestic fighters to be losing. Hayemaker have ****ed this up badly. Even without a tv deal, they should hold a show. With their roster they could have easily sold out somewhere decent. Maybe online PPV or sell a one off tv deal for dirt cheap to ESPN for example.

My concern with the campaign is that the aim (big American fights) is never going to happen. They've listed Cotto-Pac as a fight they want the Beeb to show but whats going to happeb when (and it is 'when') the BBC don't show that fight? Move the goalposts again from a weakened position having already had one 'demand' ignored?

    <rant over>;)

Another nail in the coffin for Hayemaker Promotions. I'll give them until the end of the year until they decide enough is enough or merge with Hatton/Maloney or something like that.

A big shame if it does turn out to be (nearly) the end. Although their undercards on their two main shows this year were hit and miss, they gave two excellent main events and I'm glad I was at the Echo Arena for Dodson v Quigley.

They had a good thing going with Setanta, but I still thought Sky would pick them up. Their two big shows this year seemed perfectly suited to a Friday Fight Night format-British title main event, decent name as chief support and some prospects.

Of course they may well keep going in a reduced non-TV role, but with Price and Matthews now gone, I'd expect more to follow.

they've got untelevised shows in hull and york hall coming up, so i don't know why they couldn't keep price active. maybe price himself wants all his fights televised?

Absolutely right. Ithink the campaign is ridiculous anyway but to try and get them to televise the Cotto fight is a joke

They should be big strong shows with all their stars on the bill. I can't imagine Price, Groves, Matthews demand that much money.

Hull and York Hall don't impress me. They should have found a big venue so they could make some good money.

    Ultimately, Hayemaker is making mistakes.
