I the timing if Tua's career and the time he faced his opponents where just all wrong for him. He beat future world champs like Ruiz, Maskaev and Rahman and former world champ Moorer and a draw against Rahman. Not too mention 2 fighters he lost to in world title bouts where arguably a top 5 Heavyweight (H2H and ATG) as well as a monster in Ibeabuchi would suggest Tua fought the right people at the wrong time, as well as the wrong people at the wrong time, whilst never getting the oppurtunities against champions who he was more that capable of beating and in my eyes, flat out embarrassing them
I believe he is retired. His style (though not his power) had a short shelf life. I don't remember the specifics, but he had a lot of outside, i.e. managerial, promoter, issues that stymied his progress. That, and his style (and a guy with the attributes of a prime Lewis) caused the window to close pretty quickly for him.
That too. Realistically if Tua was dedicated enough, he coulda been a cruiserweight. Even when against the likes of Ike early on in his career he wasn't in exactly prestine condition. If Tua had been dedicated throughout his whole career, I'm sure he would have held a version of the heavyweight title at least once.

I dont think He could make Cruiser, but maybe if he stripped he would of been 220-225, i think that would of hindered his style, but made his career last longer, i know he has terrible arthuritus.

201 at 19 years old. He was still a boy. I saw him spar after the Ruiz fight. He was a total block of granite. No way, no how he could have gotten under 200 during his prime. That said, the mid-220's were his best weight. Coming into the Lewis fight at 247 was just stupid.
I was disappointed when he fought Lewis. He let his weight get the better of him and did nothing but chase Lennox around the ring. Should have been in better shape for that one.
Overrated. Ike beat him up Mavrovic gave him life or death....who'd he beat? Lewis beat him easy...hell Barret beat him...though later.
