Pavlik is fighting Hopkins at 175 and probably outworks the grandad. Pavlik wants Calazage but may not get him, but Dawson will be available.

I say Dawson wins a UD with superior slicker skills and more speed

I think Pavlik-Hopkins will be at 170. At least I heard that it would be a catch-weight bout. I think Dawson wins on points but it would be close.

Sure Dawson has more speed & slicker skills, but you left out the part where Kellys lands flush.

    What happens then?

If Chad stays at 175, I can see this megafight happening within 2 yrs.

Dawson would probably outpoint Pavlik convincingly (sorry Jet :D).

One shot could change the fight though, but I'll say it now, he wins a wide UD over pav.

If Pavlik had enough power to carry it through weights, I'd back him to take it.

But I can't see his power carrying, so he loses.

Lets make the assessment after the Hopkins fight...I'd like to see how 170 affects his speed and stamina ..Pavlik didn't look like a speedster in the last Taylor fight now ..

He'll look dreadful, that's what Hopkins does.

this would be a close fight to call, dawson is faster with slicker skills sure, but he could well go to sleep if pavlik lands flush, it would be to close a fight to call IMO

If Pavlik could really beat a prime, elite LHW he wouldn't be starving himself to fight at MW which is bone dry right now. Maybe in a couple of years, but right now he's not beating Dawson.
