Dawson VS Hopkins

I thought Hopkins had ruled out a Dawson fight.

Dawson UD/SD if it happens, I don't think he will knock him out but he may even stop Hopkins... He should be able to land something on the old man... unlike Kelly... those stamina problems will not have gone away just because it didnt show when Hopkins neutralised middleweight Pavliks main and only weapon...

 

Who lacks mental focus,ain't that powerful,has a shaky chin,has big gaps of inactivity and doesn't fight at all like Taylor.

I'll agree with mental focus and inactivity, but chin? Taking bombs from Glen Johnson and Adamek does not equal shaky chin. Thats the exact opposite.

 

Glen hasn't got one punch power but still he landed 1 punch and wobbled him.And Adamek was all but 1005 in that fight.If the weight limit was 180 or so it would have been a different fight.

If hopkins find a way to distract Dawson and makes him stop punching, hopkins will take it.. We shall see, but right now i think Chad will win, just because he will punch twice as much, like calzaghe hopkins

 

any news on bhop? heard he wanted adamek at cruiser?

Hpkins on pts, I think Dawson isnt as varied as people think, he defence is poor, his chin is questionable and he seems to turn off in fights. Also Hopkins is very smart and woul dbe about tobeat Dawson at his own game, boxing. Plus Hopkins likes southpaws.

 

I see hopkins winning a close UD, if this fight ever happened which may be doubtful.

 

Dawson is no slow and 1 dimensional Pavlik, he would win by UD, based on style I think this is the worst matchup for BHOP. Both Pavlik and Calzaghe like to go forward. I just see it like a Taylor vs BHOP kinda fight, but with a less controversial decision.

Agreed. People seem to forget that Adamek knocked Dawson down in the 10th and had him holding on and running for dear life until the end after being thoroughly dominated and hit at will up to that point by Chad's so called "power" shots.

Nevertheless, Dawson's game continues to improve and I think he would make Nard look old and slow in there and probably win as long as he doesn't lose focus.

But like I said before, this fight will NEVER happen, which should be an option in the poll.

 

Speed, movement, power, and skill ... I like Dawson to take this fight ... Dawson isn't the type of fighter that Hopkins would have a good chance against. I think that a build up to this fight would be good.

I think that a fight would Dawson would remind Hopkins of Jermain Taylor --
