Andrea Radrizzani added to the DAZN board as an ‘Executive Director’ as part of the deal - not sure if he’s received any shares as a result?

Wise appointment considering his history in sports rights/broadcasting deals.

He’s got a mixed reputation amongst Leeds United fans but can’t fault his success in MP Silva and Eleven Sports.

The Nascar clips in this could be amusing if they get the rights next season.

I would end up being a DAZN Fanboy

Eleven Sports UK quickly became the dodo of sports broadcasting due to the UK public turning backs on delayed broadcasting streams 1 minute behind the live action.

If Fury v Joshua was on both BT Sports and DAZN, who is going to pay to watch a delayed broadcast on DAZN UK?

Whispers of the deal being worth in the ballpark of £500 to £600 million,

Where I normally watch it’s probably severely delayed but I enjoy watching for ‘free’. There are many legal and free ways to watch boxing and they are wonderful.

This is good news for DAZN UK who really needs some quality content.

Does this agreement mean that the monthly subscription fee for DAZN UK will increase ?

A lot of posters on here have their hands sweating hearing this, praying for the downfall of Eddie Hearn

They’re going to be waiting a very long time. If DAZN does eventually go tits up (which has to be considered a possibility) Sky and BT would pay very handsomely to get Matchroom Boxing.

None really. It’s more a European purchase from a content point of view. Also gives DAZN bigger power when negotiating global rights to businesses as they take on those subscribers.

the real money is in Whistle Sports Network which eleven own. That’s contnent and social media company that has 42 billion views a month. It’s ready made marketing outlets.

dazn are looking at this like a 10-15 year project. The people that watch this content and KSI etc will be a big chunk of the streaming subscriber base in the future

Not quite. Eleven Sports failed because they mistakenly thought a football mad nation was prepared to pay to watch Italian and Spanish Football.

It may of worked if they got the rights cheaply but la liga rights at the time were seen at the time as too expensive even for Sky who were the previous right holders.

50000 subs within a few months isn't that bad but the rights fees meant they needed a lot more to be viable.

Secondly they needed to get on sky and virgin for the UFC deal to be honoured and they couldn't get on either platform.

This deal is all about giving them a platform which can open in new territories.

It doesn't really effect the UK as the rights eleven sports hold are extremely niche
