Just got an email that they're increasing the price. £1.99 was ridiculously low and £7.99 is fair overall but I'm generally not happy paying more to subsidise their other sports licences such as women's football. Focus on boxing DAZN!
Has boxing ever been the sole focus of DAZN though? I know in Japan it is one of many much bigger sports on the platform. Besides, you could just do what I always do. Treat it like a cheap PPV, with the added bonus of a month of additional sport. Buy the fight and remember to cancel
To be fair they did say it would only be £1.99 while the lockdown was in place but like you I subscribed to a boxing service and I dont care about women's or any other football so I also cancelled the renewal
This is what I've been sent. DAZN is increasing the price of its monthly subscription to £7.99. For existing DAZN subscribers, the new monthly price of £7.99 will come into effect from 30 September 2021 unless cancelled. Mine will be cancelled before 30 September.
DAZN literally only shows Boxing and Darts in the U.S. -- really no "live" content at all just on-demand fights from months or years ago - and it's $20 a month. (LOL) Every time someone make an "outrage" post about the cost of boxing in the UK, I wonder how many boxing fans the UK would have if they were charged what we are charged in the U.S. You want to know why boxing became a "niche" sport in the U.S. Try 30 years of extra fees that were far too high.
Exactly we were watching Eubank vs Benn wars FOR FREE in UK! Boxing needs to get back to live free audience, not PPV for every single poxy bout.
A UK show and an international show every week with a magazine type news show weekly with classic fights and promo shows like 24/7 or gloves are off and I would happily pay that price. But the schedule isn't there.
