What a display by the 40 year old. Showed real heart and fitness in there. Great performance. Ajisafe was good as well. Great fight
It's sad because Francis was once a better fighter than Carl Froch is. And Froch is making £13,000,000 in his next fight (despite having no charisma). And Francis is back to the drawing board as his 41st birthday approaches, having to paint houses to make a living... Francis would've beaten Calzaghe in the 90s. Great stiff jab he had and threw every shot in the book effortlessly. The way Francis dominantly dismantled Carr and Starie who gave Steve Collins and Joe Calzaghe everything they could handle was mighty impressive, he also sparred Benn and Eubank when he was 19 and beat them both up apparently. Wasn't there a prison sentence and shoulder injury?
prison i think because he beat up a couple of guys including a rugby player who attacked his girlfriend or something like that. very talented and real power but it just never happened for him something always got in the way
Totally agree. He was a good fighter when young, doing well then they put him in with an African who gave him a fairly bad stoppage. He was a bit up and down after that. He is obviously in fantastic condition,a nice guy who is very articulate. I believe he does personal training.,so could use these qualities, plus the fact that he was a top boxer at British and Euro level,to pursue this. And I don't just mean a health club trainer who does a bit of PT on the side for 20 quid an hour.
You better be trolling... :hey If you're not, then you're rather Dean Francis's stalker or just full of ****. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDH4Y7hsO-M
Nice one Einstein. Francis was 17 and Calzaghe in his 20s. Francis also lost to David Starie in the ABAs and look what happened in the pros - Dean's game was much more suited to the pro game rather than the rush-rush slappy amateur style. He developed his punching power in his 20s and couldn't have missed the right hand on Joe.
so dean francis would of been the super middle weight legend instead of joe? oh ok, thx for educating me.
He'd have fought more frequently and stepped up to unifications in the 90s/early 00s. Calzaghe is no legend.
