Naseem Hamed's elegant footwork was better than Pernell Whitaker's and his impenetratable peek-a-boo guard was the template that Winky tried and failed to copy throughout his career.

    In all seriousness
    1. Bernard Hopkins (when have we ever seen him look beat up?)
    2. Winky (I've seen him look beat up a numner of times)
    3. Clottey deserves mention-I think he's proven how solid his defense is.
    4. Calderon
    5. James Toney (although defense hasn't looked so great lately-Peter floored him a couple times in the rematch).

yeah, in that you are right, the problem is that he has an unbalanced skills/heart ratio, too much heart but not too much skills

Toney still slugs it out because of his amazing chin.
he ain't got the footwork anymore.
he took jabs from rachman and rights from peter.

clinton woods isn't elusive, but bis basic guard is tight.

Is there any poll possible to have that your top answer wouldn't be Calzaghe?? You had him as the best guy in history at combining speed and power the other day, which is just pathetic. Don't you realize you come across as a biased fanboy?? No-one respects anyone who simply says their favourite fighter is the best at everything. My favourite is Pacquiao, but I know he is nowhere near the best defensive p4p in the world. Joe Calzaghe himself would never claim to be the best defensive boxer in the world. Do you seriously believe Calzaghe's defence is better than James Toney's? Or Hopkins's? Or Winky Wright's? Or Calderon's? Or Marquez's?
