London (15 October) James DeGale MBE will put everything on the line when he faces 'Dangerous' Dyah Davis on Saturday November 16th at Glow, Bluewater.

The WBC Silver super middleweight champion, DeGale, aims to give "a great performance" and prove he is “ready” for the best when he defends his title against the tough American, Davis, live on Channel 5.

Yet another treading water contest for DeGale.

Pretty sure his contract with Hennessy must be up soon as his career is going nowhere at present needs to be moved up Bika (who stopped Davis in 10) would of been ideal & very winnable.

Who? Groves gets Froch on PPV on Sky, Degale gets this guy at Bluewater. He must be pissed!

He could be pissed as Groves is yet again getting great exposure, fighting on a big card and has a world title within his sights.

That said if Degale wins this fight, which I'm sure he will, he goes up a little further in the WBC surely he can't be far off a shot against the winner of Bika v Anthony Dirrell. Both of them fights are easier than a match up with Froch.

Might have been a shitty 2013 for Degale, but he gets his cards right.. 2014 could be a big year for him.

Say he gets a title shot and beats either Bika or Dirrell, he then holds a title which then puts him on the table for a Froch fight.

I agree with Furey - 2014 could be a big year.

Dyah Davis, I can't find him ranked in the top 15 with any of the governing bodies, so how can winning this move Degale up the rankings?

Also Degale is ranked higher by the WBC than Anthony Dirrell - so how did Degale not get a shot at Bika first?

These are the current WBC rankings:

    Champion - Sakio Bika

    1. Edwin Rodriguez
    2. Marco Antonio Periban
    3. Maxim Vlasov
    4. Badou Jack
    5. James De Gale

Fat Mick said he was trying to get Degale to face the Periban/Bika winner but obviously couldn't.

It seems strange but I don't think the WBC belt has been easier to win than at the moment.

Also Degale is ranked 4th by WBO - he would probably fancy a shot at Stieglitz too!

Decent opponent I guess. But I'll be disappointed if his first match in 2014 isn't against a top 10 boxer. I actually like Degale. I think he's firmly behind Froch and Groves, but I think he'll easily be a continuous top ten boxer whose just a step behind the elite of the division (Similar to Abraham I guess).

This should be fairly routine and easy work for Chunky.

DeGale's main enemy is his inactivity and how he always finds himself against the ropes. If he works on throwing more and moving more, he'd be a tough challenge for the likes of Froch, and would beat the likes of Groves IMO.

He has to have a big 2014 fight wise because this year has been a total write off.

Unlike Groves, Degale isn't getting brutally stopped in his next fight.

Degale has actually been matched better than Groves here. Like you said on paper this has come too early for Groves, too big of a step up. whereas for Degaale; it's a decent opponent and a win will put him in a great position come 2014.

Hennessey is doing nothing for DeGale, I would have picked him to beat Bika.

If Groves goes the distance with Froch he would of learnt a hell of a lot more then degale will by beating up a journeyman
