If Mijares moves up, Hasegawa will K.O him. I've said it before and I'll say it again, don't be fooled by the 9 k.o's on Hasegawa's record, this guy can punch.
Hasegawa is used to fighting at 2.6% higher weight but Mijares has a 2.3% reach advantage...it's hardly a big deal, in my view...:-(( That's like Pavlik fighting at 164 instead of 160 and giving an inch and a half to his opponent in reach. Good fight, btw!
Wow! This could be 2 in a row for Mijares! He planned a move to the BW division anyway, but Hasegawa looked better than ever the last time and Cristian is coming from a HUGE KO loss... This is a great match-up, but Mijares should fight a tune-up first.
Mijares shouldn't be moving up to fight the man at bantam considering the Darchinyan fight, but nothing but credit to him for doing so. True fighter.
No, it isn't. In the lower weight classes, the discrepancy in weight plays much more of a factor than in the higher weight classes. It would be comparable to Pavlik fighting at 170 lbs, and we all know what happened there...
Tough comeback fight. Hasegawa isnt anything overly special but his wins over the criminally underrated Sahaprom are argueably better then any wins on Mijares record and anyone elses at the weight really. He isnt as explosive, quick or hardhitting as Vic but I cant see how he gives Cristan anymore room to work then Darchinyan did. Really looking forward to see how Mijares bounces back. Though I never rated him as high as some..I certainly thought he was a very good fighter with the potential to be a true p4p kind of fighter one day. Good test against probably the best fighter at bantem...though h2h Penalosa is most likely better, Hasegawa's longer reign and early wins should mean he is no easy beat.
Hasegawa is a very mean, crafty fighter. He has really fast hands when he lets them go, and considerable power despite his 9 kos. I don't like this match up for Mijares. I really wish he had better management or something... this seems abit ridiculous.

When i posted in this thread the OP mistakenly put Donaire instead of Mijares. Mijares/Hasegawa makes more sense.
