Mayol is a pretty solid puncher but he is a perfect example of a Filipino prospect who was very poorly brought up. I certainly think his fights against Kyowa and Solis were far too early for him. And to answer, no, unless Mayol lands a solid number of punches on Calderon and the latter for some reason chooses this fight in his career to fight like an imbecile, I highly forecast a Calderon UD.
I have nothing against Calderon...but I really really want to see Mayol splatter him. Ive always liked Rodel and was a bit gutted when he had that bad trot in 07-08. His fight with Kyowa aka Den Junlaphan is a classic..one of my favs of that year.
Mayol only has a puncher's chance, he more technically solid than Cazares but thats not saying much since Cazares is incredibly crude.
Good action fight..see saw stuff..At the time I thought they were two of the best straws in the division.
Rodel wen't from fighting asian bums to Solis level up in weight. The power of mayol will make this fight interesting. Like how he shook Solis.He will look for calderon but Calderon is too damn fast and elusive and straight up outbox mayol.
hope mayol pulls off an upset in this fight. i really like this kid. if only he had a better trainer....
Mayol is no longer under the Japanese manager he is with Mp ( manny pac promotion) and is taken better cared of. He has a permanent gym to work out in (WCG) and better housing accomodition.With all that said. Calderon will be too slick.
Calderon beats Sosa by UD Viloria by UD Solis by UD Baldomir by UD. None ofthem whant no prt of calderon maybe Solis now that he lost, i expect Viloria vs Caldron by the end of the year, sadly they are no more time left for Calderon, now that he is past his best and is gettign slower and slower.
