    Dempsey would kill the Giant.
(Why Not, Jack is a Legend...the other should not even be mentioned in a sneeze)

This could be an interesting one. I hope nobody picking Dempsey via early KO is basing this on the Willard fight, though.

Valuev may not be impressive, but he's far, far better over a 12-15 round distance than Jess Willard ever was, especially the ancient version that lost to Dempsey.

Willard went 26 rds with Johnson in tropical heat on what do you base your assertion?

Dempsey punched hard and fast, Valuev has heart (maybe too much 4 this fight) it would look like the Willard fight, Jess was durable too but not enough for Jacks fast Blazing fists KO by 3-5

Willard outlasted a corpse in tropical heat. Regardless, the version of Willard that outlasted Johnson was far superior to the shell that Dempsey took out.

Dempsey KO in 5. Valuev makes it out of the first 4 rounds, barely, but so much damage is done in those rounds he can't recover and gets KO'd early in the 5th.

I think that the version of Johnson that Willard beat would have dismantled virtualy any other fighter of the period. Certainly any of the other white hopes.

Hard to say how much he had left against Dempsey.

If the fight had been over 20rds the corpse ,as you call him ,would have won.Willard was 18 lbs lighter for Johnson, than for Dempsey , and in top shape.Explain how Valuev goes the distance better than Willard .

I think it's more likely that Willard knocks Fulton out. They both had powerful right hands, but Willard had by far the better chin and was much more durable.

Dempsey by TKO. Valuev remains in his corner after round 6.

Willard refused to defend his title vs fulton. He plain out ducked fulton for a reason, Fulton was far more skilled than willard. As for punching power, I dont think fulton was that far behind.......willard certainly doesnt look like a fighter on film, he looks like an overgrown farmer with a pitchfork. Fulton was too skilled for willard, he would outjab and outbox willard and win a wide unanimous deciison.

I wouldn't count out a decision, but I think if Fulton went for a knock-out it'd backfire on him. He'd have to fight safe, Willard had the power to get to Fulton's less than solid chin.

At the time Johnson fought Willard McCarthy was dead and Fulton was not yet a possible title challenger.

Even if they had been viable challengers at the time would they have been able to actualy beat Johnson?

Who else could have done what Willard did on the same date?
