How do you see him progressing to the next level? I thought he looked abysmal in putting Harrison away in the first, which is pretty crazy, but true. I'd like to see him fight Seth Mitchell, win or lose vs Banks. I think he would get knocked out in this fight but pull a Wlad, and learn to properly use his levers and protect his **** chin
I don't see him progressing at all, his stance and the manor in which he throws his punches is awful. He leaves himself wide open for counters and his footwork does him no favours. I would love to see him face Chisora next.
Although it was a very short fight i didn't like his balance and his footwork. Powerful lad but when he throws with full force he should be. He's a fighter still developing and he does need to develop some skills. Decent but i'd worry for him on the step up..
His feet are too far apart when he throws a power punch. Anyone who can defend a shot by slipping (Chambers, Haye, Pulev, Solis even) will knock him out very quickly. Left hook when he lunges in and a straight right down the middle and we'd see him in a TIMBERRRRRR moment.
Packs a huge power but still crude and clumsy as ****. I like the idea of Fury next that's the type of fight the American's will buy in to big time and if he was too win will probably catapult him to the Big Time. I have to give him huge credit against A-Force I called It completely wrong he proved me wrong !
Yep, The feet so far apart is generating the power but as you say anyone with defensive skill and counterpunching ability will exploit the sloppyness. He fights like a country boy.
Yeah, I didn't like the way he was swinging like lunatic, either. He looks too raw at the moment. But to be fair, it's not like the HW division is stacked with tough opponents. Hopefully he can be matched well and get the development he needs. He seems like a really decent bloke, and I want him to succeed.
I'd just try and throw him in with a Klitschko now, TBH. He isn't going to get much more marketable than what he is right now.
He deserves an immense amount of credit for managing to win in little over a minute yet lose the little credibility he had, that is some achievement. As soon as Wilder hits someone and they don't automatically fall over then the game is up. Chisora would take a round or two to rough him up and eventually lay him out, basically any heavyweight with basic fundamentals average power and a decent chin is dropping this hype job.

Funny thing is Kos i'd like that fight, I mean Wach hurt Wladimir and Wach looks utterly useless and sometimes the raw unpredictable nature of someone like Wilder may take Wladimir out of his element and Vitali. Not saying he'd win but he'd be fun to watch that's for sure. He'd be game and willing so why not. He could lose and still gain more credit then he would beating another 10 fighters people have no interest in. Seems a good lad as well..
He needs to do some dead lifts his legs are skinnier than Tony Bellews. It's surprising he generates so much power from only using his upper body though, if he had thicker legs his deet wouldn't have to be on either side of the ring to generate power, he'd be a lot more explosive.
It appears that all he has is power, but does he really hit that hard? Audley looked fine after that drunk flurry that Wilder threw, where as Price actually knocked Audley unconscious and did it without making himself look like a blind ape.
I think people have been a bit harsh on him because of how wild he was when Harrison was hurt. I don't think he's a bad fighter at all and whilst he isn't the finished article, he's got time to improve. He's a very good athlete and he has lots of power, which will take him a long way in this heavyweight division. In a strong era, you'd give him little chance of being a world champion but he can have success now. His agility will make up for a lot of his technical shortcomings and whilst he's hitting that hard, there aren't going to be many guys who will be eager to fight him.
