Happy for the fella. Remember when he packed it in and told us on here. Remember some lads being bit out of order if i remember correctly. I kinda felt he wouldn't be out for long and it's nice to see he's got some belief back and boxed lovely at times tonight and gritted it out against Choi. Well Done Derry!
Its just what he needed tonight to be honest i really felt he could do it glad he got revenge against choi that tonight will get him back on the scene with tv and that if he dident have such a tough fight against choi i reckon he could of done it!
Yeah i knew Buckland would win...because Derry was gritting teeth against Choi especially those bodyshots. Buckland had early trouble with Bell so a fresher Derry may of been able to win 2 of the 3 rounds if he had it in his tank. But i think Buckland won the tournament soon as he KO'd Sykes (Early work, Adrenaline etc). Derry can go away from tonight with huge self belief. He also took some meaty shots to chin and seemed to handle them alot better then he used to.
no question fair play to gary he came and done it knowing derry personally it was gutting to seein him loss but he'll be back thats the kinda thing he needed to get his name back out there!!!
Derry will did well tonight people do underrate him a bit on here now i feel and he is definitely in the mix at SFW now
Certainly got some redemption tonight. Enjoyed his performances greatly and if it had the talent level of all the other prizefighters he probably would have won it. His battle with Choi will go down in Prizefighter history, the 2nd round was just ridiculous drama. Choi v Derry III over 10 next year would be fantastic :deal
Am big Choi supporter but have nothing but admiration for the way Derry fought his demons. Although I thought choi maybe edged it in a way the manner in which Derry overcame the pyschological hurdle left me with no complaints. The spirit between all the boxers afterwards was humbling to see.
Nice to see he is doing well.He suffered some bad defeats and I did not think his comeback would go too good.Im glad to be proved wrong.
Totally agree with what is being said. The mental strength he showed last night was incredible, was gutted he didn't win it
