Good luck to derry this weekend. I realise that all depends on how much he's got left. However I feel that Campbell is very overrated and is banking on boxing matthews ghost. I've just got a feeling this very winnable for the dirty one. Cumon la!
Mathews to win is going to have to catch Campbell early in the fight and to do that needs to jump on him early,back him up and not let him settle.I do see Campbell winning I think he will be wary at the start and catch Mathews coming in with counters and break him down just past the middle rounds. Derry is a tough cookie,has seen better days but I'm looking forward to the fight.
Derry is very stiff mechanical and slow. He doesnt have the right style to trouble Campbell at all really. Barring a 'lucky' punch I cant see Campbell losing.
No way he wins on points he will need to stop Campbell.Tommy Coyle out boxed Mathews up to the stoppage and Campbell is obviously far more technical than Coyle.Campbell will be wary at the start as his whiskers don't look the strongest,Mathews should go for broke early. I would send Mathews out with the instruction to rough up Campbell from the start and don't let him settle.Campbell is your classic one-two combination and step out.
Make no mistake this fight is VERY winable for derry. And at 4/1 I think the bookies have made a mistake.
The younger Derry might have won this one, I see this going like the flannagan fight a UD or late stoppage for Campbell.
Obviously Campbell is the more skilled boxer, but one things for sure Derry will rough him up and make it horrible for him at times. Will Campbell be tough enough and want it enough to see it through, we'll see. Will he be able to box for 12 rounds without getting caught on his seemingly dodgy chin, We'll see. Great fight this and the odds are way off imo. Ps. OP only proper blag scousers say 'la'. Just sayin'.... lad
Looking forward to this one. Is it scheduled just before Bellew? I think Campbell wins but think Derry will dig in and push it the distance. Derry to win a few early rounds but Campbell to prove too good and win most of the middle and later rounds.
