At the time, most people were claiming that Haye would have beat Fury had they fought, and that the injuries were legitimate. With the benefit of hindsight, its fairly clear Fury would have beat Haye after all. Does that call into question Haye's called off fights? The second one seems legit but the first one definitely dodgy. And the Fury's said all along that Haye got spooked from hearing about Fury's training camp.
You never know, certainly. But rationally Fury has put himself much higher on the ATG list than Haye ever has, so he deserves to be the legitimate favorite. And, to the extent it matters, I suspect if that was my next thread/poll, well over half would say Fury would beat Haye.

It looks as if the version of Wlad he fought was largely on the decline (per Jennings fight), we shall see in the rematch how much he really had left or if it was just a bad night. Haye unified CW (fighting more than one titlist) and won a HW title. Haye is largely underrated here. Remember, the version of Fury that was due to fight Haye was the one that got decked by a blown-up cruiser with little power. Meanwhile Haye destroyed Chisora.
I don't think it's clear fury beats haye at,all. I would pick haye if he was 90% of what he was which was a very fast hw with hw power. Wlad was 40 for startes, that's old no matter how few battles he truly had, training camps alone were far too many. I don't think wlad was really all that anyway. Feel he used his size better than most and feel that was the best part of his very flawed fight game. Hayes pretty under rated on here with wlad being very over rated
why would he duck fury ? he showed evidence the injury's were legit i still think haye knocks him clean out,i am sick of this fury bull**** before he fought wlad his resume was laughable
Feels like he did doesn't it. i would have backed Haye to beat him at the time though, seemed an odd one if he was ducking. Ultimately quite pointless as well
He was injured, styles make fights and Fury for all his strengths is still open to that overhand right ... or to put it another way Fury is susceptible to Haye's money shot. Not saying Haye would definitely have won but he knew he had a great chance the money was good no way would haye duck that, if there is one thing he loves more than the limelights its money.
Yes, styles make fights...and like Cunningham, Haye was athletic, with good handspeed and FAR more power...but Fury knows how to wear a guy down and Hayes stamina is pretty bad at heavyweight. Would have been a good fight.
Yes, at HW he has and Wlad beat Jennings 118-109, 116-111, 116-111 with a point deducted. Fury beat Chisora before Haye too. Haye ducked Fury point-blank......twice.
