I'm afraid you may be right... I don't like what I've seen of Dirrell so far, but there's no denying he's got the tools to steal a victory at home. Personally, I'm really hoping to see the King knock that runner the fk out! :dead
I've always questioned the Super Six picks for the Americans. A shot Taylor, A green Dirrell, and then there's Ward who has the better chances to succeed than the others but only shared a win over Miranda with Abraham going into the tournament.
Matchup to me has ugly all over it. A guy who moves uses the whole ring vs a guy who likes to go in a shell and does not great foot speed. Im curious to know what Abraham is going to do. My guess is Dirrel racks up early rounds with Arthur in his shell. While in his shell he finds holes in Dirrels game he takes over and wins close on points or stops him late something Abraham does alot. Dirrel is tough to beat because he is a great mover and actually has some pop abd Abraham has that appearance of a man who can be outboxed. I do expect Abraham to win but it will be ugly.
This content is protected I'm not gonna pick against Abraham, stopped doing that when he fought on with that horribly broken jaw, spitting blood all over the place and still landing bombs on Miranda. The dude doesn't like to lose so he always finds a way to win which is quite rare, but I guess that's hardly an expert analysis. So let's say due to his unique style, power and unpredictability, it's damn hard to pick his fights. You'd love to go against him based on your general knowledge of boxing, but he just not the type who fits in, lol. On paper, Dirrell's speed, movement, power, reach and conditioning looks damn good coming into this fight to walk away with the W... once he started to fight the right fight vs. Froch, he put on a beating, but it was too late to convice the judges (I had him winning though). When in the "zone", Dirrell is an awesome fighter, a class above Abraham based on abilities, outside of it, he just doesn't look ready. Now if he can be in the zone for 12 perfect rounds, he shouldn't have any problems coming to the scorecards in his hometown, but then again, Abraham often surprises even his biggest fans and comes up with something new. He's slowly but noticebly improving which might or might not be enough against Andre. So from a boxing standpoint (skills, neutral ability, athleticizm) it's cleary Dirrell's fight. But since Abraham is not the type who just lets his opponent win, I have no idea how this is gonna go down. Anything but an ugly fight would be nice.
I think Dirrell will win this one ... he will have learned a massive amount from the Froch fight , home adavantage and the fact AA will be wondering around the ring trying to catch him all evening - could ensure a Dirrell win ! .... if Dirrell of the last three rounds against Froch fights the AA has alot to do .... if Dirrell belives in his abilities then Dirrell UD for me .... Before the Froch fight i wasnt a huge fan but i see huge potential in Dirrell and he could just win the lot .... 16/1 could be worth a sporting interest ...
Dirrell has all the skills to win a decision against AA. I´m interested to see if the body work will be a key factor in this one. It´s an obvious strategy for both. AA can land powerful punches to the body and should be able to wear down Dirrell. On the other hand Dirrell should work to the body too, to draw AA defense down. But is he able to land on AA´s body with meaningful punches? I doubt it. AA is smaller and protects his short upperbody pretty well. And he deflects straight body shots towards his nuts. That´s why his opponents often get warnings for punching low. Hooks to the body are dangerous to throw cause that leaves you open for AA counters. My final prediction: AA will stop Dirrell via body shot in round 10 :hey As an AA fan I hope he can deliever a great performance and win some fans over there with an impressiv KO win over Dirrell. But it will be a difficult task against the slick and talented Dirrell. So good luck to both fighters.
Abraham cries and complains over anything and everything. Dirrell whines and moans about anything and everything. Dirrell likes to run and pot shot. AA spends large portions of every round standing around like he is waiting for a damn bus. This fight has "stinker" written all over it. Put these two together and they may set a record for most conversations with the referee during a prize fight. I got AA by KO. I think Dirrell is to sloppy and to clumsy to avoid it for 12 long rounds.
Didn't say I won't watch it. I'll be at my sister's house watching Bute/Miranda, and Pavlik/Martinez, but we'll have the DVR runniing for sure.
Seems the vibe in America is that Dirrell got robbed against Froch - if that is so then I feel AA will have to KO him or risk the backlash of Dirrell getting "robbed" in England. A bit like how Lewis beat Hollyfield in their 2nd fight - many felt he was given the nod just cause of the outrage after the 1st fight. That said I feel Dirrell lost fair and square to Froch - so I would like to see him take it the right way and use his skills and speed in a more offensive manner vs AA. Also there is also a chance that Dirrell is gonna be exposed as not being a top level pro fighter and AA beats him easy. Good fight and I cant wait for it.
I think that one of the qualities a fighter would need to beat AA is tenacity. An opponent would have to hit him HARD and keep hitting him HARD. Don't give him time to think or room to breathe. I seriously doubt if Dirrell owns that kind of tenacity. If he does, someone hid it from him.
