Doing what Pirog always has and will be destined to do... disappoint. Unfortunately that has been his career despite a title and being undefeated.

Pirog is good fighter, but I also wonder where he is. I read somewhere that he had a bad injury..............

it's a shame injury looks to have retired him, he has said that he hopes to return to the ring at some stage some you never know. Looks like we'll never know how successful he would have been, a top quality fighter, who signed to fight Golovkin and Macklin so you know he wouldn't have been a ducker.

He is currently healthy and coming to the USA this month to discuss his next move with his promoter.

I've had a raging boner for that one for years. :good

It was always the B-side to my Golovkin vs. HNN fantasy; as the co-feature and with some combination of Lee/Barker/Murray/Macklin/McEwan versus each other to round out a triple-header it would make that maybe the most awesome middleweight card of the century.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch with Jacobs, but its one of those fights I don't want anyone to lose...

I was absolutely gutted when the GGG fight fell through. GGG is obviously on more people's radars now, but I didn't think Pirog ever made it out of the high risk-low reward bracket. That said, his post-Jacobs performances weren't exactly earth-shattering, and he's had a long layoff, so maybe there'll be more guys willing to take a chance on him in the near future.

Pirog's back injury took him out of his comeback bout earlier this year before it even became official. He was said to be getting treatment, with the goal for him to be back in the ring by this month or September, I believe. I know he was working with a chiropractor. It sucks, because the vertebrae or whatever is causing the issue will likely keep popping back out of position when he gets into his training camps.
