I'll keep it basic. I've got the flu, feel like **** but I'm worried if I don't stick to my running routine my stamina will vanish into thin air.

How bad of an idea is running while sick?

If you're ill, stay indoors until you get better.

.............There's an old axiom runners use; "If it's in your chest, better rest. If it's in your head, go ahead."

It's sound advice for the most part, but that saying really goes more for colds. If it's a real flu you have, I'd kick back at home and forget it. You may lose a little fitness doing it, but you could complicate things and spend even more time out by overdoing it and dragging yourself further down.

Rest up for now, exercise raises the bodys temperature which you don't want, especially if you have a fever. You will just aggravate the situation, and put yourself out a lot longer. Do some light stretching, kick back and watch some fights and or training dvd's.

Makes sense, I'll just rest up for today anyway. I might go for a short run tomorrow if I feel a bit better though.

    Thanks for the advice.
