I’m talking purely from the context of a press conference not the actual fight. If I was a boxer in a hostile city as the away fighter I’d be quite pleased to have an aggressive trainer back me up vocally and take the pressure off and focus off me.

Dom likes to portray he's really in control of a situation and that he's got rhino skin when in reality he's got very thin skin. He's always on edge and always on the defensive.

In his latest interview with Umar on IFL, he's shows classic signs of passive aggressive behaviour. Why does he try and fool himself and everyone else by saying he's not rattled when it's the complete opposite.

 

I agree to an extent but I really do believe the main driver for his aggressive and defensive behaviour is to take away the focus from his fighter. I think he does it well. I thought in the Spence-Brook build up he let himself down with some of his comments. He said for instance that Spence was not a proper Olympian because he didn’t get a medal. But tbh it’s probably part of the act. If Barry loses on Saturday night I’m sure Ingle will show class and shake Sean’s hand in the ring.

 

I used to really rate John Rawlings as a good boxing journalist but his bias , which ideally a journalist should avoid, is shocking .

That’s the whole point of this thread. He’s trying to take the pressure off Barry regardless of how ridiculous what he’s saying is.

 

Agree with pretty much all of that. Think Dom is a clever bloke and clearly knows what he’s doing and isn’t gunna let the Warrington/Leeds camp have everything there own way. Also agree with everyone about Rawlings! Blokes a ****ing tit
