I think everyone knows Usyk would not have been so aggressive had they not pissed him off. See Huck and Bellew fights for reference.
Yeah it’s been weirdly fascinating. Interviewers have asked out right the difference Don Charles has made and Dubois immediately reverts to talking about the team effort and his dad’s influence. Says a lot that Mark Tibbs couldn’t work with Dubois due to the old man’s interference and then there’s the whole situation with Caroline escaping her dad’s clutches and him giving McGuigan an ultimatum. Sometimes it feels like Dubois only fights to appease Stan or Dave or whatever he goes by.
Think dons a decent fit for dubois. As people have said not quite sure dubois would be in the sport if it was down to himself only. He kind of needs someone on top of him to force it out. As much as Don talks mince and hes probably not that great of a trainer in the grand scheme of things his one big strength is one that dubois pretty much needs imo.
I always find that amusing when they ask him about Charles' influence and he does that deflection stuff. There was only one time where it was coaxed out of him enough for him not to mention the rest of the team. I remember Gareth Davies saying he wasn't happy that Dubois didn't give Charles credit. I think that was after he smashed Joshua.
I don't like Don Charles but in his defence training Dan must be a nightmare due to him paying more attention to his control freak old man's advice and just generally being off like elbowing Don for instance like why? it must literally be like dealing with a child. The elephant in the room (and I'm not being nasty here) but the elephant is Dan by definition may have a mild learning disability so considering that on the outside looking in Don has handled him well.
fair point but Don Charles is a **** trainer, I have said this before. His track record tells the story.
