I am really starting to lose faith in the sport of boxing, so many rumours and shady deals made by certain athletes when it comes to testing. For me they need to bring in random testing 365 a year and introduce biometric passports for every active boxer with a license. This for me is the only way to start the clean up of the sport. How any proffesional athlete can pick and choose what kind of testing they do and when they do it is just wrong and creates and enviroment that cheats and exploit. It seems to be happening in all the top fights Marquez Bradley, Povetkin Klitchko, the who Pac Mayweather debacle. I mean Mayweather has his own deal with the drug testers that no one seems to know the terms of and has allegedly tested positive in his A sample 3 times with no subsequent test of his B sample and no further action taken. How is all that fair on the other athletes, 1 global testing agency for teh sport and all boxers with a license to have a biometric passport and be available for testing all year around not just in camp for a fight is in my opinion the only solution. Thoughts ?
Why bother testing ? Waste of time and resources. Just let them carry on doping. It only makes them perform as better fighters, more or less.
Seriously in a sport that has such a damaging impacy on peoples health anyway you would advocate the use of drugs to further damage themselves. What about those who dont want to pollute there body ? It has to be a level playing field doping in any form is wrong it's cheating and it's bad for the health of those that do it.
totally agree with this. However, it all comes down to the governing bodies, as long as we have multiple governing bodies boxing will remain corrupt and testing will be ineffective!
Your prob right there, to few holding to many of the cards for any meaningful legislation to be put forward. You would think people would have more thought for peoples health though to be honest.
Poor little Hobbit. You're stupid as you look if you believe the USADA would risk it's reputation by being on Mayweather's payroll then you're too far gone to reach.
The drugs in correct doses don't seriously harm health. They arguably aid health because they protect the body from wear and tear, and allow it to heal and recover quicker. "What about those who dont want to pollute there body ?" ... you could ask ... what about those who don't want to get punched in the head ?? OR what about those who don't want to subject themselves to rigourous and extreme training loads ?? What about those who don't want to eat high-protein diets and go into training camp for weeks on end ?? What about those who don't want to go running in cold weather ?? Athletes have to do what it takes to win. Training, diet, supplements, drugs, make sacrifices, whatever ... the be elite means you have to take extreme measures, live an extreme life, do extraordinary things. That's how champions are made. I don't advocate or encourage it. It just IS what it is. This is the reality. It's not a game at that level.
Ah once again the slime has risen from the gutter, how are you today Mr Pibb are you feeling refreshed after swallowing your fellas man fat for the 3rd time today ? You remind me of a mouse I caught in my barn once we called him Rodger, cool little mouse could preform simple tasks much like your self but when it came to complicated things like forming a coherent sentence or wiping it's own ass it tended to struggle. One day Rodger on his way to fetch some matchsticks I had thrown for him to grab and bring back he fell foul of the local Mouse catcher a fierce Cat by the name or Arnold. Rodger sadly was eaten. You know what I did Mr Pibb I went inside played Nintendo and went on with my life. Basically I didn't care, I get a very similar feeling on reading the tripe that you produce on this forum on a daily basis. So I have a suggestion go back to scholl learn some basic English and stop swallowing strangers man fat and then maybe just maybe we could possibly enter into a debate.

This is the reality.[/quote] Drugs to gain an advatage is cheating no matter what way you look at it, small dosage or proper use may bring health benfits as you state but how do you regulate that ? what is to stop people doing a little bit more and a little bit more, the only way to be sure of a level playing field is to have a ban on all PEDs. Its easier to manage a total ban than trying to see if a certaion athlete has 1mg extra than he is allowed.
It would be nice to see true random testing and an outright ban, but I can't see it happening. The money and politics at the highest level of sport won't allow it. All testing programs are just attempts at PR and are lip service. The aid in performance is real, the current testing is a joke, implementing a truly effective program costs money, and the perceived health risks are overblown.....there will never be a true level playing field across the board even if more stringent policy is in place. Its the reality of high level big money sport.
You caught a wild mouse, named it, kept it as pet, and taught it tricks. And yet you insult Pibb? Wow.
The only way it could happen would be with a collective effort from all the governing bodies and doping agencies world wide. I know its a utopian idea and one which is in all actuality never likely to be realised BUT it's the right thing to do to ensure the most level playing field possible.
This. The cold harsh reality is that there isn't the collective money, time, resource, authority or inclination to introduce such an extensive program of testing.
I agree nothing can ever be PED free 100%, people will always want to cheat, what you can do though is ensure that those who do are caught are punished even if that is retrospectively. A biometric passport will allow people to test even after they have retired for PEDs and there legacy will be tarnashed forever. See Lance Armstrong for example. You should be able to claim back prize money and wipe there records from the record books. Cycling and Athletics are leading the way in curbing drug cheats and stamping there authority down. All sports should take the same stance cheating in any form should never be tolerated or expected. People are up in arms if a fighter loads his gloves but seem to be blase if they are full of PEDs it's the same thing if one fighter in juiced and the other isnt its a unfair advantage the same way if one boxers wraps are dipped in plaster of paris and the others are not. Cheating is cheating
