Whyte was never in the fight against Fury. Did you score the 1st round to Whyte because he came out in Southpaw stance? Zero threat, zero risk fights for Fury against any of the current Matchroom Heavyweights.
I do blame him for not fighting a better opponent… Plenty of options, Michael Hunter was available and calling for the fight, Sanchez, Bakole, Hrgovic or even Joe Joyce were available and he chose to fight Chisora who isn’t a keep busy, it’s a p*ss take giving his friend an undeserved payday.
Whyte needed 2 chances to get a win over an ancient Povetkin. he needed a serious referee error to get a win against Parker on home soil. his first fight with Chisora could have gone the other way. Wilder almost knocked out Fury. Whyte was hopelessly outmatched.
An unfit Fury that his dad said anyone half decent would have beaten that version of Fury. Wilder got battered twice against a on shape Fury.
he almost knocked him out in their last fight. a few months before Fury completely and utterly outclassed Whyte and put him out with one punch.
Since Pulev lost to Joshua he has been fighting UFC fighters on Triller and stopped taking the sport seriously. He was shot when he fought Joshua too.
Yeah I know mental. Remember thinking Fury never got out of 2nd gear for Whyte, but in hindsight not sure he got out of first gear.
- First fight back in the UK since 2018 - Bank holiday - Wembley Stadium - Whyte was a mandatory Bit of context needed.
Think we’ve seen the same with Ruiz and Martin to an extent. Even for pro boxers it’s a life changing amount of money facing Joshua. I’m not saying they were any good beforehand but Martin disappeared for years after losing to Joshua, Ruiz bought rolls Royce’s and tried to eat himself to death after becoming champion.
No doubt Martin had his title bought off him and probably at a loss to Matchroom as a longer term investment, but good luck to the guy - right place at the right time.
